Chess Intermediate III (In-Person / BGC)

Our Chess Intermediate III course is designed for students ready to refine advanced tactics, deepen strategic understanding, and enhance competitive play.

Key Skills Covered:

• Mastering complex tactics: decoys, interference, and clearance
• Developing long-term strategic plans and pawn structure dynamics
• Advanced endgame techniques and theoretical endgames
• Expanding opening repertoire and handling unconventional openings
• Positional play and exploiting imbalances
• Analyzing famous games and personal game critique
• Tournament preparation and competitive play strategies

Classes involve board demonstrations, practical interactions, and match play under instructor guidance. Students are encouraged to participate in regional and national chess tournaments.

Prerequisites: Completion of Intermediate II or equivalent knowledge.

Duration: One school year (approximately 32-34 lessons).
