**This is an Introduction to Chess summer course designed for children who are new to chess or have had very limited exposure to chess**
Our Introduction to Chess summer course is the perfect entry point for young beginners. Designed for children with little to no prior experience, this course introduces the game in a fun and engaging way through storytelling, interactive games, and hands-on activities.
Students will explore the fundamentals of chess, including:
The layout of the chessboard
The names, values, and movements of all pieces
How to capture, check, checkmate, and stalemate
Special moves like castling
Lessons combine board demonstrations, group discussion, and guided gameplay to create a playful, supportive environment. While the program is short, its primary goal is to spark curiosity and enthusiasm for chess, laying the foundation for further learning.
