Chess Intermediate 'Knight Explorers'

**This class is for students with prior chess experience.

Our Chess Intermediate "Knight Explorers" course welcomes students with prior chess experience—whether they’re building on their emerging skills or refining more advanced play. Lessons are tailored to each group’s skill level, allowing every student to grow their understanding, sharpen their strategies, and gain confidence at the board.

Key Skills Covered:

• Understanding and applying the three phases of the game: opening, middlegame, and endgame
• Strengthening tactical skills (pins, forks, skewers, double attacks, and more)
• Learning the role of pawn structure and effective piece development
• Recognizing, creating, and defending against checkmate patterns
• Enhancing game mechanics, including castling, en passant, and pawn promotion
• Practicing endgame and checkmating techniques with various pieces

Classes include board demonstrations, interactive problem-solving, and plenty of supervised gameplay. Students will also be encouraged to participate in tournaments and friendly competitions to apply their skills in a real-game setting.
