Our Reading III 'Reading Comprehension and Introduction to Writing" course is designed to strengthen students’ reading comprehension skills and introduce foundational writing techniques. Through a combination of group discussions and individual activities, students will learn to analyze and interpret a variety of texts—both fiction and nonfiction—while developing confidence in expressing their ideas in writing.
Key Features:
Reading Comprehension: Students will learn to identify main ideas, make inferences, and discuss text structure across fiction and nonfiction genres.
Writing Foundations: Emphasis on sentence structure, paragraph organization, and basic grammar usage to build effective written communication.
Engaging Lessons: Lessons are supported by clear explanations, examples, and visual aids to meet the needs of diverse learners.
By the end of the course, students will demonstrate stronger reading fluency and comprehension and will be able to express themselves more clearly and effectively in writing.
Class Structure:
Small Group Setting: Personalized instruction in a supportive, collaborative environment.
Experienced Instructor: Led by a certified elementary school teacher specializing in reading and early writing development.
Placement Guidelines – Fall 2025:
Returning AlphaMinds Students: This class is recommended for students who completed Reading II during the previous school year.
